How The Doggy Playschool Keeps Tails Wagging This Summer

The summer heatwaves have given us all challenges for our fur-covered dogs and dog service providers have had to adapt to this new summer heat. While many dog walkers and day cares & kennels were forced to significantly reduce activities, close outdoor spaces or limit exercise, we are proud to say that The Doggy Playschool is experiencing minimal disruption thanks to careful planning and investment in our facilities; I can remember when we started a few years ago, hot days meant we closed.

One of the best investments we have ever made has been our lake.

During the hottest days of the year, our dogs had the ability to cool off safely and enjoy supervised water play. It feels me with great joy to watching our packs of happy dogs splash, swim and paddle through the water having amazing, knowing they are regulating body temperature whilst still allowing them to enjoy their day outdoors.

The response from our members has been incredible. For many dogs, the lake has quickly became the highlight of their visit, offering enrichment, exercise and relief from the heat all at the same time.

As temperatures climbed, we also continued to make use of our fully air-conditioned indoor spaces, allowing dogs to rest comfortably during the warmest parts of the day; maintaining a balance between activity, relaxation and temperature control has been central to our summer strategy and has helped ensure every dog remains safe, comfortable and happy, when dogs where clear'y getting tired in the afternoons we have, only on a few occasions got them home a littler earlier to make sure health was always protected.

We are continuing to invest heavily in the site. Plans are already underway to expand our outdoor shelter areas, creating even more shaded spaces for dogs to relax, socialise and enjoy the fresh countryside air throughout the year. These additions will further strengthen our ability to provide exceptional care in all weather conditions moving into winter months.

And the excitement doesn’t stop there.

Over the coming weeks you’ll start to see our fleet receiving a fresh new look as our transport vans undergo a full wrap with our brand.
